Fake bomb threat in passport offices across Rajasthan
India
On Tuesday, a fake bomb threat emailed to Jaipur's Regional Passport Office set off a big scare across Rajasthan.
Offices in around 20 towns, including Bikaner, Sikar, and Jaisalmer, were evacuated as a precaution.
Post offices in Kota and Jhalawar also cleared out after alerts from CID Intelligence, Jaipur.
Police are now working to track down whoever sent email
Security teams and bomb squads searched buildings with dog squads but found nothing suspicious. After confirming it was a hoax, searches concluded; some offices later resumed normal activities.
Police are now working to track down whoever sent the email.
This is not the first time: similar prank threats have recently targeted courts and schools in Rajasthan too.
