Flood-Like conditions plague Bihar's Nalanda district

Heavy rain in Jharkhand led to a sudden surge in Bihar's Falgu River, forcing officials to release a huge amount of water from the Uderasthan Barrage on June 19.
This overflow damaged small dams in Nalanda's Hilsa, Karaiparsurai, and Ekangarsarai areas, leaving several places flooded.
The state is now providing food and clean water to people affected by the rising waters.

TL;DR

Flooding has disrupted daily life

Flooding has disrupted daily life and put many at risk, especially with some residents getting trapped when river levels rose quickly—like those sleeping under a bridge in Gaya.
Thankfully, everyone was rescued thanks to quick action by local youths and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
These events are a reminder of how unpredictable monsoon season can be—and why fast response and better prep matter for everyone living near rivers.
