Fuel ban enforced on aged vehicles in Delhi
Delhi just started a new rule—if your petrol car is over 15 years old or your diesel one is over 10, it can't be refueled at Delhi fuel stations anymore.
This move, led by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), aims to tackle the city's air pollution.
On day one, officials seized 80 vehicles that didn't make the cut.
Most banned vehicles quickly impounded by authorities
Out of 98 vehicles found breaking the rule on launch day, most were quickly impounded by authorities.
To keep things tight, police have also set up Automatic Number Plate Reader cameras at fuel stations to spot banned vehicles before they refuel.
Special Commissioner Ajay Chaudhary says this is all part of a bigger push for cleaner air—and similar rules could roll out in nearby areas by November.
Despite the crackdown, fuel stations reported barely any disruption, hinting that many drivers are already following the new rules.
