Earlier this year, the Gujarat ATS had arrested four members of Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Among those arrested was a woman from Bengaluru who allegedly ran an online terror module with Pakistani links. The accused were identified as Fardin Sheikh, Saifulla Qureshi, Mohammad Faiq, and Zeeshan Ali. They were arrested on July 23 for promoting AQIS ideology on social media platforms.

Group incited violence in name of 'Ghazwa-e-Hind'
During a follow-up operation at Ali's Noida residence, the ATS recovered an illegal semi-automatic pistol and live ammunition. The operation was conducted on disclosures made during questioning under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Virajeetsinh Parmar. The group is accused of inciting violence in the name of "Ghazwa-e-Hind," calling for an armed uprising against India's elected government, and encouraging violent acts targeting non-Muslims.
