Gurgaon minors shoot classmate with father's licensed gun over rivalry

In a shocking incident in Gurgaon, two minors were arrested for allegedly shooting their 17-year-old classmate. The weapon used was a licensed pistol owned by the father of one of the accused. The victim, who is a Class 11 student, is currently undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital and remains in critical condition.

Victim was called to meet near Kherki Daula toll plaza
The incident occurred on the night of November 8 when the victim was called by a classmate to meet near the Kherki Daula toll plaza. The friend took him to a rented accommodation in Sector 48, where he was shot at with the intent to kill. A police team from Sadar police station reached the spot after receiving information from the control room and recovered one pistol, one magazine, five live cartridges, and one empty shell.

The two accused minors were arrested within hours of the incident on November 9. During initial questioning, they revealed that all three boys study in Class 11 at the same school and had a dispute two months ago. The boy who fired the shot called the victim under false pretenses before taking him to a rented house, where he was shot.

Police appeal to licensed weapon holders
The pistol belonged to the father of the boy who fired the shot, a property dealer who kept his licensed weapon at home. The Gurgaon Police has registered a first information report (FIR), and further investigation is underway. They have also appealed to all licensed weapon holders to keep their firearms out of reach of children for safety reasons.
