Haryana's record-breaking number plate up for re-auction

The famous 'HR88B8888' number plate, which set a record by being auctioned for ₹1.17 crore in Haryana, is getting re-auctioned.
The original winner, Sudhir Kumar, Director of transportation service Romulus Solutions Private Limited, missed the payment deadline—thanks to some tech glitches and his family not loving the huge price tag.

Why this plate is such a big deal

Haryana runs regular online auctions for VIP number plates on fancy.parivahan.gov.in, with bidding every weekend.
This particular plate got everyone's attention because of its eye-catching string of eights, pulling in 45 bids and pushing the price way past its ₹50,000 starting point.
Clearly, some folks really love a lucky-looking number!
