Heli services resume for Char Dham, hindered by weather

India

Helicopter services for the Char Dham pilgrimage are still on hold because of bad weather in Kedar Valley, even though authorities had cleared them to resume.
This comes right after a deadly crash near Kedarnath on Sunday, where an Aryan Aviation helicopter went down, claiming seven lives and triggering urgent safety checks.

Crash amid poor visibility

The crash happened amid poor visibility—likely due to flying into terrain that couldn't be seen.
Since then, all Aryan Aviation flights for the yatra have been stopped, and aviation authorities are tightening safety rules.
Two other pilots from TransBharat Aviation were also suspended for flying in risky weather.
The focus now is firmly on keeping passengers safe as conditions remain unpredictable.
