Honoring Kargil War hero's family

On June 15, the Indian Army visited the home of Lance Naik Krishna Kumar in Haryana's Tarkanwali village. Kumar lost his life in the 1999 Kargil War, and as part of their 'Ghar-Ghar Shaurya Samman' initiative, army officials presented his family with a certificate and a memento to recognize his bravery.

TL;DR

Army stands by its heroes' families

The visit wasn't just about ceremony—it was about connecting with Kumar's wife, sons, and brother ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas (July 26), listening to their concerns, and showing that the Army still stands by its heroes' families. The 'Ghar-Ghar Shaurya Samman' program is all about honoring fallen soldiers and making sure their families feel remembered and supported, even years later.
