IIM-Ahmedabad placements: BCG, Microsoft, Amazon top recruiters

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has emerged as the top recruiter, followed by Amazon and Microsoft in premier B-school IIM-Ahmedabad's summer placement for the PGP class of 2020. The summer placement drive took place in three clusters, and saw participation by over 100 firms engaged in advisory consulting, investment banking and markets, management consulting, consumer services, manufacturing and others. Here are the placement details.

BCG, Amazon, and Microsoft top the three recruitment clusters

Whereas Boston Consulting Group emerged as the top recruiter in the first cluster with 20 offers, Amazon emerged as the top recruiter among 53 companies in the second cluster, with 14 offers. Meanwhile, in the third cluster of the recruitment drive, Microsoft was the top recruiter among 40 companies, with 10 offers.

    Notable recruiters in particular segments

These three firms apart, several firms stood out in segment-wise recruitment. Samsung was the top recruiter in the consumer electronics segment, while Airtel became the top recruiter in the consumer services segment with 8 offers. In the consumer goods segment, AB InBev, HUL and Saint Gobain jointly topped with 7 offers each. In the general management and leadership segment, the Aditya Birla Group topped with 9 offers.

IIM-Calcutta saw 100% recruitment in summer placements

Meanwhile, IIM-Calcutta saw the entirety of its PGDM class of 2020 recruited in summer placements. 120 companies recruited all 458 students of the PGDM class of 2020, in a matter of a couple of days. The most recruitment was in the banking and financial services segment, where Citibank was the top recruiter. In the consultancy segment, BCG again was the top recruiter.
