IIT-Kanpur denies putting ban on students for late-night outings, parties

In a bid to protect students from vices like drug addition and stop them from contacting 'unscrupulous people', it was earlier reported that the administration of IIT-Kanpur had banned students from going out late at night. However, the institute has now denied putting any such ban. "Such a decision was never taken at any stage," said KK Tiwari, registrar of the institute.
