IMD: Monsoon to withdraw from most parts by October 14

India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says the southwest monsoon is pulling back from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh by October 14.
Parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and Telangana will also see the monsoon ease up.
But if you're in Tamil Nadu or Kerala—expect heavy rain to stick around till October 17 thanks to Cyclone Shakthi's leftovers.

Southern states could face flooding, travel hassles

While most of central and eastern India will get cooler and drier soon, southern states could face flooding and travel hassles from ongoing downpours.
The IMD has even told fishermen to avoid the Arabian Sea near Kerala through October 13 because of rough waters.
It's a good time to stay updated on local alerts as weather patterns shift across regions.
