India just made it easier for UAE nationals to visit
India has expanded its Visa-on-Arrival (VoA) scheme for travelers from the UAE, now including Cochin, Calicut, and Ahmedabad airports—bringing the total to nine entry points.
UAE citizens can use this to visit India for tourism, business, conferences, or medical reasons and stay up to 60 days per trip.
Who gets the easy entry?
This VoA is only for UAE nationals who've already had an Indian e-Visa or regular visa before.
If you are of Pakistani origin, or if either of your parents or grandparents was born in or is a permanent resident of Pakistan, you'll still need to apply through an Indian embassy.
The process is pretty straightforward: fill out a form at the airport or online via India's Su-Swagatam app and pay a ₹2,000 fee.
What else should you know?
You can enter twice within those 60 days and use VoA multiple times a year—no extension limits.
But if it's your first time visiting India from the UAE, you'll need an e-Visa or paper visa first; after that, VoA is all yours on future trips.
This move should make life easier for frequent flyers and help boost ties between India and the UAE.
