Indigenous jet engine project gets top priority, says Rajnath Singh

India

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh just called building India's own jet engine a "national mission" and promised the Air Force full government backing.
Speaking at the Air Force Commanders's Conclave in Delhi, he highlighted how committed the government is to making this happen.

Why should you care?

This push isn't just about tech—Singh also spotlighted new defense systems like the Sudarshan Chakra and praised the IAF's quick action during Operation Sindoor.
He stressed that future wars will need skills in AI, drones, cyber, and real-time intel—so India's prepping for tomorrow's challenges.
Plus, with initiatives like iDEX and ADITI bringing startups into defense manufacturing, there are more opportunities for young innovators to get involved.
