IndiGo cancels 300+ flights after new pilot rest rules hit
India
IndiGo just canceled over 300 flights because of fresh safety rules from the DGCA, which recently came into effect.
The new guidelines are all about giving pilots more rest and cutting down on late-night flying, but they've thrown a wrench into IndiGo's usual schedule—especially since the airline relies a lot on night operations and runs with lean staffing.
How IndiGo is handling the chaos
Since airlines didn't update crew schedules soon enough, disruptions got worse and now DGCA has called IndiGo in to sort things out.
To get things back on track during this busy travel season, IndiGo says it's trimming some flights for now and hopes to be running normally again within 48 hours.
