IndiGo meltdown: Flights canceled, chaos for travelers

India

IndiGo's network has been thrown off balance by a crew shortage and new safety rules, leading to over 70 flight cancelations, particularly in major cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.
Passengers in Pune were also affected by delays and some cancelations.
The chaos was made worse by tech glitches, winter schedule changes, crowded airports, and bad weather—all at once.

Why does this matter?

Bengaluru airport alone saw 42 flights scrapped in a single day, leaving passengers stranded with little communication from the airline.
In November, IndiGo canceled over 1,200 flights—most due to not having enough crew for the stricter duty rules.
Now regulators are investigating and asking IndiGo how they plan to fix things.
Even with a quick action plan from the airline, many travelers are still stuck waiting for answers.
