Jaipur warehouse operator wiped expiration dates off 150,000kg noodles
India
Rajasthan's Food Safety Department just destroyed a massive haul, 150,000kg of expired Amul noodles, ketchup, mayo, and energy drinks, found in a Jaipur warehouse.
The bust happened after someone tipped off authorities through the 181 helpline.
Warehouse operator was caught running things with an expired license
Warehouse operator Gagan Ahuja was caught running things with an expired license and reportedly wiped expiration dates off thousands of cartons using tricks he picked up on YouTube.
He planned to repackage and resell these as fresh stock for extra profit.
Authorities have issued notices to the manufacturers and suppliers and are preparing/formalising legal action for illegal storage and tampering, and the investigation is still underway to track where else these products may have ended up.
