A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Awantipora area in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district today. Security forces launched a cordon & search operation in the Banderpora-Rinzipora area of Awantipora this morning following information about the presence of terrorists there.

The terrorist was a resident of Koil, Pulwama
After the terrorists fired on the search party, the forces retaliated. In the ensuing gunfight, one terrorist was killed, the official said. He said the slain terrorist has been identified as Ishfaq Yousuf Wani, a resident of Koil area of Pulwama in south Kashmir.
