Karnataka couple arrested for assaulting mentally challenged teen at special school
A disturbing video from Bagalkot, Karnataka, surfaced online showing a couple—Akshay Indulkar and his wife Malini—assaulting 16-year-old Deepak Rathod, who is mentally challenged.
The footage captured Akshay beating Deepak with a belt and plastic pipe, while Malini threw chili powder in his eyes.
Shockingly, an onlooker can be heard laughing in the background.
The incident happened at Divyajyoti Residential Special School, which wasn't officially registered.
What happened next: arrests, rescue, and action
After Deepak's parents filed a complaint, police quickly arrested Akshay, Malini, and two others connected to the school.
All four were arrested as investigations continue.
Authorities have sealed the school and rescued the children. An FIR has been registered under child protection laws to ensure justice for Deepak and other affected kids.
