Kartavya Path lit up with 1.5L diyas, drone show
This Diwali, Delhi's Kartavya Path was transformed into a glowing festival zone with over 1.5 lakh earthen lamps and an epic drone and laser show on October 18, 2025.
(While the official plan was for two lakh diyas per night, 1.5 lakh were lit on the first evening.)
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other leaders joined the crowd as light projections told stories from the Ramayana and celebrated the spirit of Diwali.
Eco-friendly Diwali celebration
The highlight: drones formed scenes from Lord Ram's journey, while lasers mapped colorful visuals onto city buildings, blending old-school storytelling with futuristic vibes.
Instead of firecrackers, organizers chose eco-friendly diyas and high-tech displays to keep pollution down—plus fairy lights brightened up city roundabouts.
The whole event ran smoothly, showing how big celebrations can be both safe and sustainable.
