Kashmir set for light rain and snow as new weather system moves in

A weak Western Disturbance is rolling into Jammu and Kashmir, bringing chances of light rain and snow—mainly in north Kashmir and the higher hills—until Tuesday morning.
If it rains at night when it's colder, even the plains could see some snow.
Most areas, though, aren't expecting anything heavy.

Why does this matter?

Light snow or rain can make roads slippery and slow down travel, especially in hilly spots where transport disruption is possible.
If temperatures drop enough at night, even lower areas might wake up to a snowy surprise.

What's up with the temperatures?

Nights have been warmer than usual lately (Srinagar hit 4°C on Sunday—way above normal), but daytime temps have dipped below average.
Gulmarg was still below freezing but not as cold as usual for this time of year.
