Kashmir's new rail link attracts 25,000 passengers
Kashmir just got a major upgrade: the new Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line is packed, with over 30,000 people already hopping on the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar. Tickets are sold out for the next two weeks, and bookings are filling up fast for July. The buzz started right after PM Modi launched it on June 6.
More than just a train route
This isn't just another train route—it's a big deal for travel and connection. Spanning 272km with 36 tunnels and 943 bridges (including the world's highest rail bridge!) , it finally gives Kashmir all-weather access to the rest of India. Tourists and pilgrims, especially those heading for Amarnath Yatra, are loving it.
All-weather access to Kashmir
With trains now rolling in smoothly, getting to Kashmir is easier than ever—no more worrying about tough weather or tricky roads. It's boosting tourism, helping local businesses, and making life simpler for everyone who calls Jammu & Kashmir home.
