Kerala gears up for heavy rain: Yellow alert in place

India

Kerala is on weather watch as a new low-pressure system over the South Andaman Sea is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain.
The IMD has already issued a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki today (November 22), after Thiruvananthapuram saw some serious showers—Neyyattinkara got the most with 78mm in just 24 hours.

More alerts likely as rain picks up

The IMD bulletin indicates this weather system could strengthen into a depression by November 24 and intensify over the southwest Bay of Bengal while moving west-northwestwards.
As a result, more districts in Kerala may receive yellow alerts soon. Kollam, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam are already on alert for tomorrow.
If you're in Kerala, keep an eye out for updates and stay safe!
