A Vande Bharat Express train hit an autorickshaw at Akathumuri Halt near Varkala, Kerala, late Tuesday night.
The autorickshaw driver, reportedly drunk, lost control and ended up on the tracks.
He jumped out just before impact—escaping with minor injuries—and ran off but was caught by Railway Protection Force soon after.
Train delayed but no passenger injuries
The crash delayed the train by about an hour as teams worked quickly to clear the wreckage.
Thankfully, all train passengers were safe and no one was hurt.
