Lawyer urges CBI probe in Kolkata rape case

After a female advocate was allegedly raped in Kolkata, Advocate Satyam Singh Rajput has asked the Chief Justice of India for a Supreme Court-monitored CBI investigation to ensure fair and timely justice.
He's also calling out TMC leaders Kalyan Banerjee and Madan Mitra for victim-shaming comments, urging accountability for their words.

Interim compensation, victim's safety

Rajput wants strong protections for the victim, her family, and witnesses.
He's urging West Bengal to boost safety in schools—think 24/7 CCTV, women's safety cells, emergency response systems, and staff background checks.
He's also pushing for ₹50 lakh as interim compensation to help cover the victim's medical and legal costs.
