Lone survivor attempts rescue in Air India crash
An Air India plane crashed near Ahmedabad last week, killing 241 people in the worst aviation disaster in a decade.
The sole survivor, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, was found trying to re-enter the burning wreckage to look for his brother Ajay Kumar Ramesh.
Though injured and confused, he was pulled away by first responders and taken to the hospital.
TL;DR
Ramesh and his brother on separate seats
The crash happened just 30 seconds after take-off.
Ramesh and his brother were on separate seats, flying back to the UK after visiting family in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Ramesh at the hospital—a reminder of how rare it is to survive such crashes.
