Maharashtra government approves revamped Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway at ₹1L/cr
Big news for road trippers: Maharashtra's government has approved a revamped plan for the Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway.
The project now stretches 856.765km (up by 54.173km) and comes with a bigger price tag: ₹1 lakh crore instead of ₹80,000 crore.
Expect smoother drives ahead, as the new route adds extra distance in Satara and tweaks paths through Nanded, Hingoli, Parbhani, Solapur, Sangli, and Kolhapur.
Nagpur-Goa travel reduced to 8h
The updated expressway will cut travel time between Nagpur and Goa from 18 hours to just eight—a huge win for anyone who loves quick getaways.
It crosses 13 districts and passes major religious spots like Mahur and Tuljapur.
After some pushback from farmers and environmental concerns, planners made changes to address concerns.
Land acquisition for the revised portions can begin now, and joint measurement work has been completed in over one third of the villages.
Once finished, this expressway should make traveling across Maharashtra (and down to Goa) a lot easier (and faster) for everyone.
