    Bureaucratic rejig at Center: Alka Tiwari appointed new CVC Secretary

    IAS officer Alka Tiwari has been named the Secretary of anti-corruption watchdog Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) as part of a major senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle effected by the central government. Tiwari, a 1988-batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre, is currently the Joint Secretary in Department of Fertilizers. She was appointed the Secretary, CVC, in the rank and pay of Joint Secretary, an official order said.

    As many as 20 bureaucrats appointed in various central-government departments

    Bihar-cadre IAS officer Sunil Barthwal has been named Central Provident Fund Commissioner in place of VP Joy, who has been appointed Director General, Hydrocarbons. Barthwal is currently joint secretary, Department of Economic Affairs. Ajoy Kumar, meanwhile, has been appointed the Secretary of National Commission for Backward Classes. He is the Additional Secretary of National Commission for Minorities at present.

    Revenue Dept's Arun Goyal named Secretary, Coordination, in Cabinet Secretariat

    Department of Revenue's Special Secretary Arun Goyal was appointed Secretary, Coordination, in the Cabinet Secretariat. Indian Railway Accounts Service officer, Dakshita Das, was named the Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services. He is currently the Road Transport and Highways Ministry's Joint Secretary. Rasika Chaube and Anuradha Prasad will be Additional Secretaries in the Ministries of Steel and Labor and Employment, respectively.

    Upma Srivastav appointed Social Justice and Empowerment Dept's Additional Secretary

    Additional Secretary in the Department of Defense, Barun Mitra, has been moved to the Department of Defense Production in the same rank. Subash Chandra will be Additional Secretary, Department of Defense, in Mitra's place. Upma Srivastav will be Additional Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. She is currently posted in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation, and Farmers Welfare.

    CS Mohapatra transferred to Department of Economic Affairs

    Sibani Swain has been appointed Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Labor and Employment while CS Mohapatra as Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs. Sanjay Bandopadhya was named Additional Secretary, Ministry of Shipping; Rajesh Aggarwal, will be Director General, Training, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Vijay Kumar Dev, who was Director General, Training, has been repatriated to his Union Territories cadre.

    Saraswati Prasad given additional charge of SAIL CMD post

    Joint Secretary in Department of Expenditure, K Rajaraman, has been appointed Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs. Department of Rural Development's Joint Secretary, Atul Kumar Tiwari, has been transferred to Textiles Ministry in the same rank. Steel Ministry's Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Saraswati Prasad, has been assigned additional charge of the post of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Chairman & Managing Director.

    Appointments in major Union Ministries

    IAS officer Juthika Patankar will be Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. T Rajeshwari will be Additional Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation while PK Pathak will be Additional Secretary in the Ministry of AYUSH.
