A 63-year-old from Bengaluru lost over ₹32 lakh after falling for a WhatsApp dating scam.
The scammers, posing as an exclusive dating service, first asked for a small registration fee and then kept demanding more money.
The victim chatted with someone named Ritika, who promised to meet up but never did.

Victim reported everything to police on October 23

After Ritika, another person named Priti joined in, claiming she was arranging the meeting.
Trusting them, the victim kept transferring money until their demands turned into threats—making it clear it was all a scam.
He reported everything to the police on October 23.
Now, there's an official investigation under cybercrime laws to trace the money trail and identify the suspects behind the scam.
