Minor Dalit girl endures 2-year sexual abuse

A 15-year-old Dalit girl from Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, was allegedly raped over two years by her classmate and his father, along with several others. The abuse began when she was just 13. The case has been filed under the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita - 2023 (BNS).

Six arrested, including 4 missing

Police have arrested six accused—including the classmate, his father, and four others—while seven more named in the complaint are still missing. The survivor bravely came forward. Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister has promised swift action and strict punishment for those involved, while opposition leaders are calling out authorities for failing to protect women's safety.
