Monsoon withdrawal on hold; heavy rain expected in these states

The southwest monsoon isn't leaving just yet—its withdrawal is on hold from Gujarat to Uttar Pradesh because of a well-marked low-pressure area over north Madhya Maharashtra, according to the IMD.
This means more heavy rain is on the way for Saurashtra, Kutch, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh through the weekend.

A fresh low-pressure system is set to form over the Bay of Bengal by October 1, which could keep monsoon vibes going in Central and North Peninsular India.
IMD says to expect very heavy showers in Saurashtra and Kutch, plus steady rainfall across Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra.
West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar should also get ready for downpours later this week—so keep an eye out for weather alerts and stay safe!
