Mysuru cops bust sex racket curing 'mental illness' with virgins

India

Mysuru police just busted a disturbing sex racket where minors were exploited under the false belief that sleeping with virgin girls could cure mental illness.
Two people—Shobha from Bengaluru and her accomplice Tulsi Kumar—were arrested after allegedly trying to sell a 12-13-year-old girl for ₹20 lakh.
The whole thing came to light thanks to NGO Odanadi Seva Samsthe, who tipped off the police after discovering videos of the girl being displayed to potential customers on WhatsApp.

Both suspects in judicial custody

Police, working with Odanadi, set up a sting by having an NGO member pose as a client.
Shobha brought the minor to meet near a children's home, but her story didn't add up and she eventually confessed.
Both suspects are now in judicial custody, and the young girl—a Class 6 student—is safe in protective care.
Police are still investigating how Shobha came into contact with the girl.
