NIA uncovers terror plot using J&K hospitals as weapon hideouts
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is looking into a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group that allegedly planned to stash weapons inside hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir.
This comes after the Red Fort blast in Delhi on November 10, which took 13 or 14 lives.
Investigators say the group surveyed hospitals in places like Anantnag, Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, and Nowgam to hide "toxic weapons," taking cues from tactics used by Hamas.
Doctors arrested, explosives seized, and wider links under probe
Things escalated when Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather and two other doctors were arrested—police found a gun hidden in a hospital locker tied to Dr. Rather.
The investigation led to huge seizures: over 2,900kg of explosive materials were recovered from Faridabad, along with bomb-making supplies.
Six suspects have now been arrested across several states. The NIA is also checking for connections to Hamas, while Delhi officials are tightening rules around chemical sales and hospital staff checks to prevent future threats.
