Gurugram vs. Noida: A battle of being the best

    What's the story

The residents of Gurugram and Noida - touted as the next-gen cities - have always been at loggerheads on which city has the best job opportunities, civic amenities, housing, social life, and safety to offer.

For some, the "dynamic" Gurugram is a better bet while some like to share their loyalties with the "planned" Noida.

Here's our take on this very hotly debated topic.

    Jobs

Gurugram, a better avenue for job opportunities?

Noida and Gurugram have developed rapidly and been a source of bread and butter to many. But, we still have a clear winner.

Noida is a hub of IT outsourcing firms like Dell, HCL, Adobe, and AON.

Gurugram, on the other hand, houses offices of HUL, Deloitte, and Snapdeal thus offering a wide spectrum of industries for huge employment opportunities.

    Metro, Electricity

Civic amenities: The road less traveled by civic authorities

Civic amenities like drinking water, electricity, drainage, and transportation are the basic characteristics of a habitable environment.

While Noida may boast of well-planned drainage and transportation system with robust intra-metro connectivity and easy availability of cabs and autos at an economic price, Gurugram certainly lags behind here.

However, electricity and potable water stand on the same scale in both cities.

    Affordable Housing

Noida: A preferred choice among home buyers

Noida gives better access to budget-housing with a decent 2 BHK priced around Rs. 50 lakh while a 2 BHK in Gurugram, in a good society, can cost Rs. 1 crore. Moreover, the rented housing also offers better avenues to residents in Noida.

Also, with metro connectivity extended to Greater Noida, the ROI on properties in both Noida and Greater Noida are very promising.

    Safety, Crime rate

Safety, a rising concern among residents in Noida

While most housing projects in Noida are gated communities, the security assistance in Gurugram is limited to apartments only.

The internal roads are poorly lit in Gurugram making it difficult for residents to move after dark. Noida scores better when it comes to street lighting and night patrolling of PCR vans.

However, the crime rate in Noida is higher as compared to Gurugram.

    Social life, night life

Social life in Gurugram better as compared to Noida

With its shopping complexes, marketplaces, multiplexes, high-end restaurants, Gurugram is the hub of social happenings.

Gurugram offers a safer and a more happening nightlife to individuals than Noida.

Recently, places like Gardens of Galleria and DLF Mall of India have marked their presence in Noida which is transforming the image of the place from being meek to the happening zone of the NCR.
