Petrol, diesel prices in India remain unchanged for 3 years

India

Petrol and diesel prices across India held steady on Friday, keeping up a price freeze that's been in place since May 2022.
Oil companies still check global oil rates and the rupee's value daily at 6am but for now, what you pay at the pump hasn't budged.

How much does fuel cost across the country?

On Friday, petrol ranged from ₹94.30 per liter in Chandigarh to ₹107.46 in Hyderabad.
Diesel was between ₹82.45 and ₹95.70 per liter depending on where you are.
For quick reference: New Delhi's petrol was ₹94.72 (diesel ₹87.62), while Mumbai saw petrol at ₹104.21 and diesel at ₹92.15.

How are prices determined?

Fuel costs depend mostly on global crude oil trends and how the rupee stacks up against the dollar—plus taxes, refining, and local charges thrown in too.
Even though companies review rates every morning for transparency, right now there's no movement to report!
If you ever want a real-time update, major oil companies let you check via SMS too.
