PIL demands grounding of Air India's Boeing fleet

India

After a deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad that took at least 270 lives, Ajay Bansal, a Supreme Court advocate, has filed a public interest petition in the Supreme Court asking to ground all of Air India's Boeing planes immediately.
The plea calls for a full safety audit within two weeks and says the government and aviation regulator (DGCA) haven't followed proper safety rules.

Petition details

This case shines a spotlight on airline safety and how well authorities are keeping watch.
The petition points to whistleblowers warning about Boeing manufacturing flaws and flyers complaining about equipment issues mid-flight.
While DGCA says most Dreamliners passed checks, the push is for stricter, surprise audits and more transparency—so passengers can feel safer every time they fly.
