PM Modi lays foundation for ₹47,800cr projects in Assam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assam on March 13-14, rolling out projects worth over ₹47,800 crore across Kokrajhar, Guwahati, and Silchar.
Highlights include a Periodic Overhauling (POH) workshop / railway coach repairing facility at Bashbari in Kokrajhar, six road infrastructure projects in Kokrajhar, including four flyovers and two bridges, the 150 MW Kopili hydroelectric project in Assam, and the Shillong-Silchar high-speed corridor.
For young people in Northeast, better opportunities close to home
These projects aren't just about big numbers, they're set to improve roads, boost jobs, and make travel smoother across Assam and beyond.
PM Modi was to distribute land pattas to tea garden workers and released the 22nd installment of PM-KISAN to over 9.3 crore farmers (about ₹18,640 crore).
For young people in the Northeast especially, this means better connectivity, more opportunities close to home, and a stronger local economy.
