Pune wakes up to coldest morning of the season, cold wave alert out

Pune just had its chilliest start this winter—temperatures dipped to 7.7°C in Pashan and 7.9°C in Shivajinagar on Thursday.
The IMD says it could get even colder on Friday, possibly hitting 7°C, before temperatures begin to rise marginally.
Thanks to strong northerly winds, a cold wave alert is now active for Pune and nearby areas.

This sudden chill isn't just about shivering mornings—IMD is urging everyone to bundle up in layers and eat well while the cold snap lasts.
Maharashtra's lowest temperature was actually recorded at 5.5°C in Jeur, Solapur district this week.
