Punjab: 2 dead, 14 injured as bus-truck collide in Fazilka

A serious road accident near Tahliwala village, Fazilka, saw a Punjab Roadways bus and a scrap truck collide head-on Wednesday evening.
Two people lost their lives and 14 others were hurt; the bus had around 40 passengers on board at the time.

Locals step up, investigation ongoing

Before emergency crews arrived, local residents jumped in to help free those trapped—especially the driver, who was stuck for about 45 minutes—and got the injured to Fazilka civil hospital.
Police have taken both vehicles for investigation, with senior officers looking into what caused the crash (poor visibility is suspected).
One victim has been identified as Sonu; efforts are on to identify the other.
