What's the story

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has uncovered a major terror conspiracy behind the recent Delhi blast after two major arrests made over the past 48 hours, India Today reported. The accused had initially planned rocket bomb attacks across high-security zones in Delhi before switching to car bombs, sources were quoted as saying. The group had been working on modifying drone technology to create a rocket-based explosive delivery system, similar to tactics used by Hamas and ISIS.

Arrests and probes

NIA arrests key conspirators, investigates digital trails

Per reports, the NIA found this massive threat after apprehending a second terror suspect who worked with the suicide bomber, Umar un Nabi. Jasir Bilal Wani, alias Danis, an "active co-conspirator" according to the NIA, was arrested for providing technical support for the planned terror attacks. He had allegedly been radicalized by Nabi and was being groomed as a suicide bomber. The NIA is now analyzing digital devices and communication trails and suspicious procurement patterns to identify more collaborators.

Arrest

Another man arrested

Wani admitted that he had met with members of the "Doctor module" in a mosque in Kulgam in October of last year. He was then brought to a rental accommodation close to Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana. Before Wani, the NIA had detained another key member in the conspiracy, Amir, a Kashmiri man who was instrumental in obtaining the vehicle used by Umar.
