Search underway for woman who abandoned infant on train
A woman abandoned her 15-day-old baby boy on a local train between CSMT and Panvel around 11:30am Sunday.
Carrying heavy bags, she asked fellow passengers for help getting off at Seawoods station, handed the infant to one of them, but then stayed on the train—leaving the baby behind.

Police have filed a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and are using CCTV footage to track down the woman, described as medium-built, dusky, and about 30-35 years old. Her photo is being shared publicly to get leads.
The baby was taken to Navi Mumbai Municipal Hospital for checks and will be cared for by the Child Welfare Committee after discharge.
