Telangana factory blast claims 34 lives
A tragic explosion at Sigachi Industries in Telangana's Sangareddy district has left 34 people dead.
The blast, which rocked the Pashamylaram industrial area on Monday morning, set off a large fire and brought emergency teams rushing in.
Many workers were trapped, and the number of casualties rose as more victims were found and some injured later passed away.
Rescue operations on war footing
Around 90 workers were inside when the explosion happened, making rescue operations tough due to collapsed structures.
Firefighters and disaster response teams used robots to help search for survivors.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao announced ₹5 lakh compensation for each victim's family and said medical help is being given to those hurt.
Authorities have started investigating what caused the blast.
