    What's the story

Terrorism is in its "last stage" in Kashmir because of the Modi government's decisive actions on the anti-terrorism front and over 600 terrorists had been killed so far in the current NDA rule, claimed Union Minister Jitendra Singh.

His remarks come ahead of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's expected visit to Jammu and Kashmir next week.

    Here's more.

What exactly did Jitendra Singh say?

"The decisive actions that the government has taken...600 militants have been killed during the period, and this is much higher than the number of militants killed during the UPA-I and UPA-II (governments). Terrorism in the Valley is in its last stage," Jitendra Singh.

Singh on talks with Pakistan and J&K separatists

On whether the cessation of anti-terror operations will be followed by talks with Pakistan and J&K separatists, Singh said, "The Government of India will take a decision which will be in the interest of the country."

He added, "Everybody is welcome to talk. Nobody has said that we are going to send an invitation to the separatists. Anybody (any Indian citizen) is welcome."

Jitendra Singh said he had met 45 (separatist) delegations in Jammu and 70-75 in Srinagar. "Nobody has been barred from coming and meeting me," he said. Rajnath Singh also said that anybody is welcome to meet him.

    Pakistan

Pakistan suffered because of Modi govt's action, claims Singh

On Pakistan, Jitendra Singh said the neighboring country has suffered due to the Modi government's decisive action and now the issue of cross-border terrorism will be dealt on the military and diplomatic fronts.

He also added that countries that never heard India's point of view on Pakistan and cross-border terrorism in Kashmir have begun to hear, respond, and support the country.

    Information

On the ceasefire in J&K ahead of Ramzan

On the truce in J&K announced before Ramzan, Singh said it was a "conditional ceasefire and to that extent, the government stands vindicated". He added the government has been endeavoring to resolve issues with Pakistan both at the diplomatic and military levels.

    Decisions

Modi government's bold decisions for India's development: Singh

The Modi government has taken bold decisions such as demonetization and implementing the GST for the development of the country, said Singh.

The Minister of State (MoS) in the Prime Minister's Office said, "The Central government has taken a number of initiatives to address the problems of border people, including compensation and relief to the victims of Pakistani shelling."
