Thali prices drop in India: Veg thalis now cost ₹50

Good news for anyone who loves a home-cooked meal—thali prices across India dropped sharply last month!
Veg thalis are now 17% cheaper, and non-veg thalis are down by 12% compared to last year.
The main reason? Staples like onions and potatoes saw huge price cuts, dropping by 51% and 31%.

Why are thali prices down?

More imports of pulses and higher supplies of onions, potatoes, and tomatoes (with tomatoes down 40% and pulses down 17%) meant there was plenty to go around.
Even broiler chicken prices dipped due to oversupply.
However, rising costs of vegetable oil (up 11%) and LPG cylinders (up 6%) kept thali prices from falling even further.
