Tragic death of toddler in Karnataka drain

A heartbreaking accident in Bhatkal, Karnataka, saw a two-year-old girl, Tauseef, slip into an overflowing drain while playing near her home. Despite her family, including her mother Arju, rushing her to the hospital, she couldn't be saved. The whole incident was caught on CCTV.

Similar incidents in the past

Bhatkal Town Police are now looking into what happened and checking the CCTV for any signs of negligence. Sadly, this isn't the first time—last year, a 12-year-old boy drowned in an open drain in Haveri, and there was also a deadly bus accident involving a drain near Bengaluru. These repeated incidents are raising serious questions about how safe public spaces really are across Karnataka.
