Visa fraud uncovered at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

A visa scam at Hyderabad airport has landed several students in trouble after they tried to fly to the US and UK using fake degrees.
Four students were caught in pre-departure checks—despite clearing embassy interviews—when immigration officials flagged their forged certificates from universities like Madurai Kamaraj University and Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Arrest of 1 student leads to others

It started when Pakeeru Gopal Reddy was deported from the US for an inactive student record and then found carrying a fake BSc degree.
His arrest led police to other students with forged BCom, BTech, and Intermediate certificates bought through agents.
The investigation pointed to Ashok, head of Sri Dhanalakshmi Overseas Private Limited, who admitted to supplying fake degrees since 2020.
Police seized 150 bogus documents, cash, phones, and company stamps; all accused are now in custody as the probe expands to more students and consultancies.
