Voting like celebrating a festival: CEC on Bihar polls

India

Bihar's voter list just got a big refresh for the first time in 22 years, with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar urging everyone to take part in the upcoming Assembly polls—he even compared voting to celebrating a festival.
The update comes after some political concerns about the recent revision process, but Kumar stressed that following legal rules is key before any election.

Key updates on polling process

The Assembly elections are set to wrap up by November 22.
No polling booth will have more than 1,200 voters, and mobile phones won't be allowed inside.
To make things clearer for everyone, EVM ballot papers will now show serial number font and candidate photos will now be in color.
On ID checks: existing rules apply (including for burqa-wearing voters), and while you can use Aadhaar as ID if you want, it's not proof of citizenship—just identity.
