'We were made to sign a 1-year contract': Indian stranded

India

Harminder Singh, 32, from Jalandhar, says he and other Indian men were promised jobs in Russia but ended up forced into the Russian Army.
They had to sign contracts, lost their passports, and five from their group have gone missing.
"We were made to sign a one-year contract with the Russian Army," Singh shared.

Families protest in Delhi for help

With 44 Indians now confirmed serving in the Russian Army—up from 27 just two months ago—families are protesting in Delhi for help.
The Indian government is urging Russia to send them home and has warned others not to fall for risky overseas job offers.
Authorities are also taking action against recruiters involved in these cases.
