Weather update: Orange alert in parts of Bengal

Heads up if you're in North Bengal—Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar are under an orange alert today.
The Met Department says to expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and winds up to 50km/h over the next few hours.
Some other districts such as Bankura and Jhargram are also on yellow alert for strong rain and gusty winds.

Several train services canceled

Bad weather has already led to several train cancelations since Sunday morning.
Trains like the Siliguri-Dhubri DEMU and NJP-Alipurduar Tourist Special aren't running, so if you have travel plans in the region, it's best to double-check updates before heading out.
