Start slow and set realistic goals

Start slow and set realistic goals
  • First things first - you might be tempted to go all out, but you need to take it easy.

Don't burn all your energy on day one. Try to understand that losing weight or building muscle (whatever your goal might be) - these are long-term processes and thus take time.

Also, make sure to set realistic, time-bound goals that aren't impossible to achieve.

    Always stay hydrated
  • The importance of staying hydrated can't be reiterated enough.

But once you start working out, you just can't risk staying dehydrated, as it can lead to serious health issues, including life-threatening heat-strokes.

Hence, drink plenty of water and other healthy fluids (read juices and smoothies) throughout the day.

Also, remember to drink water before, during and post workout to maintain your energy levels.

    Mind your nutrition

    Mind your nutrition
  • They say abs are made in the kitchen, and we agree.

Just going to the gym and praying for the best won't work.

You need to consistently plan and implement healthy eating to support your workout sessions.

Make sure your diet is balanced, loaded with lots of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats.

Also, never skip your meals or stick to fasting to lose weight.

Don't forget to warm up and cool down

  • Workout takes place in levels. That is why it becomes crucial to warm up and cool down.

Warming up before workout helps improve athletic performance and reduces chances of injury. Try aerobic exercises like arm swings and leg kicks, in the beginning.

On the other hand, cooling down will help restore normal blood circulation and breathing patterns, thus lowering risk of post-workout muscle soreness.

    Tip #5: Respect your body

  • We appreciate your passion but pushing your limits beyond your health isn't really the best of plans. Looking at long term, we advise you to listen to your body. If workout feels like a pain, take a break. Don't overuse your body. All the best!
