A month ago Rohit Shetty's Simmba hit the screens. Since then the movie has been on money churning spree at the box office.
In fact, Simmba has raked in Rs. 239.6 crore so far making Rohit the king of box office.
Rohit, who is basking in the success of his movie, won hearts after he donated Rs. 51 lakh to Mumbai police.
Notably, Rohit announced the noble decision during the recently held Umang 2019, a cultural festival organized by the Mumbai Police.
Rohit, along with Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar, handed over the cheque of Rs. 51 lakh on behalf of his production house Rohit Shetty Picturez to the Commissioner of Police.
This gesture of Rohit certainly won him the love of Mumbai Police.
Starring Ranveer and Sara Ali Khan in the lead, Simmba took the box office by storm on the first day itself.
Given the positive response and a good word of mouth publicity, Simmba managed to earn around Rs. 240 crore in four weeks.
In fact, it became Rohit's eighth movie in Rs. 100 crore club and is expected to cross Rs. 250 crore soon.
Rohit's fascination for cop drama is a known fact. In fact, he struck gold with his first cop drama Singham that released in 2011.
He returned with Singham 2 in 2013 with Ajay Devgn in the lead again, that also did an incredible business at the box office.
And his recent release Simmba with Ranveer has already been declared a winner by the audience.
Interestingly, Rohit's love for cop drama doesn't end with Simmba. He is coming with another super cop movie Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar.
Besides, Rohit is also planning to introduce Salman Khan as the new policewala in his cop drama universe.
Reportedly, Rohit will be directing Salman in an action-packed cop flick tentatively titled as Kick 2.
